The Furget Me Not campaign is aimed at
stopping the illegal killing of otters
for the fur trade. The first area that
we are concentrating on is Cambodia,
where Asian Small-Clawed Otters, Smooth
Coated Otters and the incredibly rare
Hairy-Nosed Otter are being killed
illegally for pelts, which are traded
by middle men to China. The original
trappers are fishermen for whom the
money for the skins plays an important
part in keeping their families alive,
so the campaign aims to find a way to
reconcile the survival of both otters
and people.
